Shenzhen Qianhai financial district

Along the west coast of Shenzhen lays the Qianhai financial district. An urban plan of Chinese scale. In the midst of high rise towering up to 400 meters will stand two towers of the competition, one of 100 and one of 150 meters. Unlike most of the surrounding these towers are developed by the government. There idea is to have more control over the quality of the public space. Once the towers are finished they will be soled to the developers. The main function is office, both towers will have a small commercial podium.

Office tower combined with a small commercial area. Located on the North bund side of shanghai, besides the Yangpu river and one of its side branches. Facing two water fronts and an green belt is a highly unique situation in Shanghai.

A temporary structure designed for Dakar Senegal. Resurge pointed out that in the early nineties a youth movement in Dakar was set out to clean the whole city. In the spirit of this movement the concept developed to a structure using mainly recycled materials. Its shape was derived from the typical round houses found in Senegal.

Guangzhou Wanda-Financial Centre

Similar to the Head quarter of Wanda in Shanghai HPP was invited to design two towers for their financial Centre in Guangzhou. Two towers’ interlinking with a podium facilitating commercial functions and a kinder garden. The towers climb up to 240 and 220 meters

Concept development for a 180 meter high-rise tower besides Lupu Bridge on Puxi (West of Huangpu river) side of Shanghai. The design was to be presented to the mayor of Shanghai. Wanda required a Head quarter exceeding the urban height regulations of the district. This eventually stopped the project, for Wanda was not able to persuade the urban planning bureau to except the required hight from Wanda.

Competition Shenzhen North Sation 250m High-rise

The second round for the competition was a further development of the design. The main target for the client was to present the design to the mayor of Shenzhen to gain approval for construction. The conceptual approach remained in tact, yet the architectural expression continued to develop.

Competition Yueda Zhuhai, High-rise, Shopping-mall, Dwelling

 

 

Encompassing housing compound, two office towers a Soho tower and a large shopping complex. Typical Chinese urban regulations separated most of the functions which left a small chance of creating the mixed use quality initially available with a diverse program such as this.

A competition for designing two plots on each side of the plaza in front of the high-speed train station. HPP won the design for plot D2 that holds the highest tower of the two plots, 258 meters up in the air. Besides the high rise a complex podium interlinks with a multitude of urban networks and a second small service apartment tower.
